A recording studio built on technical precision, acoustic expertise, and commitment to delivering clear, accurate sound for musicians and producers across London.
Tibequ opened in 2018 when three audio engineers decided to create a space focused on technical accuracy rather than trends. We started with one control room in Brixton, equipped with calibrated monitors and treated acoustics. The goal was straightforward: provide musicians with an environment where they could hear their work clearly and make informed decisions about their recordings.
Over six years, we expanded to three recording rooms and added equipment based on client needs. Our microphone collection grew from 12 to 47 units. We installed analog preamps alongside digital interfaces. Each addition came from requests by artists working here, not from marketing promises. Today, we handle 280 sessions annually, from solo vocalists to full bands, serving musicians who need reliable recording conditions.
We record, mix, and master audio across genres. Our engineers have worked in this field for 8 to 15 years, with backgrounds in live sound, post-production, and music production. They understand signal flow, frequency response, and dynamic range. Sessions here involve technical discussions about microphone placement, compression ratios, and EQ curves. We explain our choices and involve clients in the process.
Our rooms are acoustically treated using bass traps, diffusers, and absorbers positioned according to measurements taken with analysis software. We maintain our equipment through regular calibration and servicing. Cables are tested monthly. Converters are checked for accuracy. This maintenance schedule ensures consistent results across sessions. When you record vocals on Monday and return for guitar overdubs on Friday, the sonic character remains the same.
We use calibrated equipment, measured room acoustics, and documented workflows. Every session starts with gain staging and ends with reference checks on multiple monitoring systems.
Engineers explain technical concepts in plain language. We discuss options, demonstrate alternatives, and document settings so you understand what happens to your audio at each stage.
Our team knows the specifications, frequency responses, and optimal use cases for each piece of gear. We select tools based on the source material, not brand reputation or vintage appeal.
Through regular maintenance, documented procedures, and quality control checks, we deliver recordings that meet technical standards for streaming platforms and physical media distribution.
